My Angel in Heaven...

Losing my mother right after the new year helped me put things in perspective. Around June 2014, I didn't have the credit score, a dime saved or anything else that suggested I was ready to purchase a home. All I knew was at that time, my mother was gearing up to being discharged from the nursing home before the end of the year and I had to make some serious financial changes. She had a house on Capitol Hill, Washington, DC, however, it wasn't conducive for her to remain in that home alone without assistance to care for her, not only because of her battle with COPD, but because it had numerous steps - which was a big challenge for her. The short of the story is, I prepared for her discharge a few days before Christmas in 2014. Got her home December 23rd and she passed away January 3, 2015. After laying her to rest, about a week later something inside of me said go check out the townhomes down the street....I was living in District Heights, the townhomes were located in Capitol Heights. I did just that and if you read the beginning posts of my blog, you will see how my journey began with pre-approval, to approval, to changing from townhome to single family home, etc.

Last night I didn't get off to sleep until well after 2am, my mother was on my mind. Not only because I miss her so much, but I know she's looking out for me and watching over me. Everything is coming into perspective. I have begun another journey as an entrepreneur and looking forward to running my business out of my new home.

Stay tuned for more pics hopefully by the end of the week....waiting on cabinets to be installed.
:-)
