Post 13.0

Long time, no post....

Last week I received a call from my loan officer asking me for an update on my lot. I basically told him the hold up was the permit. I held up my end of the bargain and met all the conditions set forth back in April. So, after several weeks of being disappointed that Ryan Homes still haven't received the permit for my lot, I decided to begin to enjoy the summer and not do my weekly call on Mondays. It has been 2 1/2 weeks since my last call. While on the way to my doctor's appointment today, I said I would call to get an update. Here's what I was told:

"The inspection has been completed. Your home is on the schedule to begin construction on July 13th!!! However, we are still waiting on the permit. Your SR will be in contact with you to schedule your Pre-Construction meeting very soon."

I was so excited about getting a date for construction, I am just now thinking about these questions:

  1. How can you be so sure you will receive the permit by the break-ground date?
  2. Since the permit took so long, do I have an opportunity to change an option or two?
  3. How come I had to do the calling and wasn't getting called?
  4. I locked in this deal a minute ago, and now you have an additional incentive. Is it possible to get that because of my wait?
I can let #3 go....and I am glad it took an extra month for me to put away a few more dollars. However, in the back of my mind I feel I should be compensated somehow for my patience.
